Christophe Billard has chosen to draw on his passion for the arts to consult with corporates – mainly in Finance - and advise on artistic strategy.
For close to 25 years, while working at senior managerial positions in banking, art has remained at the background of this bank director career in international private wealth management.
Christophe Billard, who is an alumni of ESSEC business school Paris, has been collecting contemporary art privately. In business, he has also relied on art as an emotional way of thinking to nurture deeper relationships with private banking clients – in South-East Asia, Japan, UK and Europe.
Since 2017 however, Christophe Billard ventured briefly into luxury & fashion business before exploring various paths at the crossroads of philanthropy, art and finance. Co-curator of exhibitions (Paris, Berlin), sitting on the board of various organisations, he likes to share and communicate widely about art (reviews, podcasts, for various media (Mowwgli, Smarty, Art District Radio).
He chairs and manages the non-for-profit “Friends of Idem Print house” association – Idem is a 140-year old emblematic heritage print house in Paris Montparnasse. During the Covid lockdowns, Christophe has launched a charity art project, Les Amis des Artistes, to support artists deeply affected by the crisis.
Last but not least, he has also been sharing his rich experience with international MBA students in Arts&Luxury Management at IESA Arts&Culture in Paris, lecturing on “New financing methods for cultural projects” and on “Art, luxury in the evolving corporate environment”.
