Michel Chevalier is a graduate of HEC. He holds a MBA and a Doctorate from Harvard University where he specialized in marketing and retailing.
He started his career as a Consultant with the Boston Consulting Group in Boston and later worked for S.C. Johnson (Paris, Madrid, Brussels and Caracas). He came back to France as an General Manager of Paco Rabanne Perfumes and, later, Chairman of Paco Rabanne Fashion.
He then moved to Tokyo as Executive President of Bluebell Asia, the biggest distributor of luxury items in Asia. He then was appointed consultant with EIM Paris and General Manager of EIM Shanghaï.
He has co-authored several books, including:
- Luxury Brand Management (4th edition, exists in English, Italian, Korean, Mandarin and French)
- Luxury Retail and Digital Management (2nd edition, exists in English, French, Mandarin and Korean)
- Luxury China: Market opportunities and Potential (in English, French, Mandarin and Taiwanese)
He has a strong experience in Perfumes and has helped develop several new brands , including for example the DUSITA company, which is a very successful niche perfume company today.
He is familiar with the worldwide distribution of luxury goods and has been associated with the largest luxury distributors in Asia and in the Middle East. He can then be a help in organizing the presence of new brands in those territories.
In the luxury business where very large and impressive groups coexist with very strong and successful mono-brands and niche brands, his knowledge of these different worlds could be an asset for those who want to develop a career in those different sectors.
