Phillip Cartwright
Phillip (Phil) is an American citizen raised in the Chicago area living in France.
He is currently Dean and Full Professor, Performing Arts Management and Research Methodology, and Director, Ascencia Center for Applied Business and Management Research, Ascencia Business School, Paris; Full Professor, IESA, Paris; and Visiting Researcher, Royal College of Music, London. A Ph.D. in economics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He has over thirty years of academic and business experience. He has held posts at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, the University of Georgia, INSEAD and Paris School of Business.
He has also been a senior executive with Nielsen Marketing Research, Ernst & Young Consulting and Arthur Andersen Business Consulting. His research has been widely published. Today, Phil's teaching and research interests focus on the performing arts. Phil studies music theory and composition at the Berklee College of Music. He is a member of the American Economic Association, the American Psychological Association, the American Musicological Society, the International Music Business Research Association, the Dance Studies Association and the Society for Dance Research.
