Artistic Exploration in Madrid: Immersion in the Vibrant World of Contemporary Art
In the heart of Madrid's bustling art scene, students from the MBA in Arts & Cultural Management program at IESA arts&culture were accompanied by their professors, Lassla Esquivel, Grecia Caceres, head of the Latin American department at the IESA Applied Research Center, and Carolina Ariza, Head of the International Department at IESA.
They immersed themselves in the captivating "Fotoenfotomatón" exhibition at OTR Espacio de Arte, where the striking works of Irene Luna and Amparito awakened their artistic sensibilities.
This excursion wasn't confined to just one gallery.
The students also had the opportunity to explore the renowned Galería Helga de Alvear, where they witnessed by the bold creations of Thomas Locher. They had the privilege of meeting artist Emilio Chapela and discovering Arkhé Space, a Latin American archive dedicated to queer and LGBTI memory.
The trip also included a visit to the TAI School, represented by Natalia Gonzalez, with whom IESA has a partnership.
The highlight of their journey was undoubtedly the visit to the La Neumudéjar Museum, where the Goldstein Private Collection was exhibited within the prestigious framework of the 2024 Madrid Arco Art Fair. Arco (Feria Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo) is one of the world's most important contemporary art fairs, attracting galleries, collectors, and art enthusiasts from around the globe. This fair provides an invaluable platform for discovering and acquiring leading contemporary artworks, as well as for exchanging ideas and networking within the global artistic community.
Immersed in this private collection, the students witnessed a panorama of contemporary artworks, thereby nourishing their passion for art and their learning in artistic management.
This experience transcends mere academic boundaries.
