Professional visit organized for our MBA Contemporary Art: Sales, Display and Collecting students to L'ahah
Students enrolled in the MBA Contemporary Art: Sales, Display, and Collecting program recently visited L'ahah with professor Lassla Esquivel. Led by the L’ahah Director Doria Tichit and accompanied by Jeanne Marthas, an alumna of IESA International now serving as L'ahah's Communications Coordinator, the visit provided invaluable insights into the ever evolving world of contemporary art.
Situated in the heart of Paris, L'ahah provides a platform for emerging and established artists alike, dedicated to propelling artistic recognition through a multifaceted approach encompassing exhibitions, publications, and collaborative initiatives. The ethos of L'ahah resonates with its commitment to fostering long-term relationships with artists, championing diverse disciplines, and amplifying innovative endeavors through alternative structures.
One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity to engage with acclaimed artist Anne Deguelle, a French sculptor. Through the diversity of her practices, Anne Deguelle questions the nature of works of art and the work of artists and emblematic characters of the 20th century. By focusing on details usually neglected by art history or criticism, because they are considered anecdotal, it creates confusion in our perception and our memory, by proposing a re-definition of what is designated by the notions of Art and Work.
At L'ahah, our students gained a nuanced understanding of the multifaceted challenges and opportunities inherent in the contemporary art market. The visit served as a testament to the transformative power of hands-on learning and experiential education, reaffirming the importance of forging meaningful connections between academia and real-world practice in shaping the next generation of art professionals.
